We visited a zoo!

When we were handed a copy of the new We Bought A Zoo on DVD we thought, ‘Aw. A cute film about animals.’ Two hours later we've laughed, we've cried, and we've hit play to watch it all over again. That ‘cute film about animals’ is a heart-warming, emotional, dramatic tale of a family who, while trying to cope with a loss, buy a house – with a zoo attached!

And the really cute thing about the film? It’s all based on a real story! To celebrate the release of We Bought A Zoo on DVD and Blu-Ray on 16th July, we were kitted up with wellies and wet-weather gear, and packed off to visit Dartmoor Zoo, the real zoo behind the story, to play a bit of zoo-keeper ourselves! We got ankle deep in animal poop (and found out one animal we hand fed could have taken our fingers off!), fed the tigers a chunk of pony, and chatted to Benjamin Mee, who’s character is played by Matt Damon in the film.
