Say hey to Kimberly Wyatt...

Want to know what makes BM Beauty THE beauty brand to use? We got chatting to one of it's co-founders - none other than pop star Kimberly Wyatt - on her fave products, her worst beauty mistake and loads more...

Bliss - So, tell us what makes BM beauty so amazing?
Kimberly - It’s a mineral based brand that covers everything – eight different foundation colours for various skin tones, eye shadows, blushers, bronzers, mascaras, finishing powders, concealers, brushes. The works! The amazing thing is that it’s all completely cruelty free. We don’t use any animal products in any of the products and in any of the make-up either and try to keep everything completely natural. Plus with the foundations they also have zinc oxide, which is great for problematic skin which we’ve all experienced. So it’s great to know that you’re cheating your skin problems at the same time as camouflaging them.

B - We love all the fun colours in the eye shadows.
K - Yeah, they’re fun! Even better, you can use clear nail polish with the colours and actually use it as nail polish.

B - No way, how do you do that?
K - You just pour out a little of the eyeshadow on a piece of napkin or paper, take your brush from your clear polish, dip it into the eye shadow and then paint it on. Just remember to clean your brush after so you don’t pollute your polish.

B - Amazing! That’s so cool.
K - You can use the eye shadows with water as well, to get a more of an eyeliner type feel, which really makes the colour really pop. I’ve been performing in West End show ‘Revolution’ and we’ve been using all the different colours as highlighters, lipsticks, eye shadows and lipsticks to give it this really cool futuristic feel. The products are really multi-purpose.

B - How old were you when you first started experimenting with make-up?
K - Probably around six or seven. I always loved make-up. My parents would never let me wear it that young but I would sneak it out in my little book bag, find a bathroom and put on blue eye shadow and pink blush - just crazy make-up. Being a competition dancer as a young kid, we always wore stage make-up for competitions too. It was then that I started really getting into it.

B - What beauty products can you not live without?
K - My new lipgloss is one that I definitely can’t live without and it’s from BM Beauty! The new lipgloss is the perfect nude that I’ve always wanted. I also love the mascara. I don’t go a day without wearing mascara and it was nice to find a mascara formula that still gives you the thickness and length that every girl craves, but in an all natural formula. I also love the BM Beauty Dewy Perfection Finishing Powder that just kind of gives you that perfect look for everyday. Those three are more or less my everyday staples.

B – (laughs) We were just about to ask you what your top three BM Beauty products were.
K - Well there it is. Done. (laughs)

B - Who’s a celeb you would most like to give a makeover to?
K - Katie Price.

B - Ha, that was quick! Good choice – what would you do?
K - I would strip her right down and take away all that orange. She’s such a beautiful girl and we just don’t ever really get to see that, so it would be nice to strip her back and just make her natural beauty shine.

B - What’s your own biggest beauty disaster to date?
K - One in particular stands out. I tried a chemical peel but they didn’t get all the chemicals off my face. It was still burning on my way home and when I looked in the mirror it looked like I had third degree burns all around my eyes – that was crazy. It made me think, there has to be another way to get good skin and look nice without burning your face off.

B - Eeek! That does NOT sound like a good look. Speaking of which, what beauty look do you go for when you’re going out?
K - Well it definitely depends on the evening and the outfit. If it’s something a little more reserved, then I want to be understated, beautiful and fashionable. So I would go for more of a natural look with a flawless finish but a bit more of a pop of the lip. If I want to rock it up a bit, I go for more of a smoky eye using something like the Wolf Howl eye shadow and kind of play down the lips with a nude lip gloss. I like to play with make-up, I always say dare to be different. If you’re not having fun then you’re doing something wrong.

B - So would you say always try new looks, and don’t get stuck in a rut?
K - Absolutely. Don’t get stuck in a rut. I think it’s important to always try new things, because depending on your eye shape and your bone structure there’s always things out there that are going to make and accentuate your natural features. You can find that natural beauty without surgery and cosmetic craziness.

B - And chemical peels…
K - (laughs) Yeah. And even without chemical peels.
